Artspace is an exciting programme at Bradford Cathedral to bring a feast of dramatic performance, exhibitions, music and literary events into this wonderful building to please the eye and inspire the imagination.

The first major initiative of this project has been to develop the library as a resource on the Arts and Spirituality for use by a wide range of readers, alongside its ongoing use as a meeting room and as an appropriate archive and resource for Bradford historic materials for the City, Cathedral and Diocese.

The Jane Williams Library - named in her honour in memory of her father, the late Rt Revd Geoffrey Paul, Bishop of Bradford 1981 to 1983 - was opened on 18th April 2010 following a programme of refurbishment of restocking. Mrs Williams' lecture The Importance of Beauty in Troubled Times was the first in a programme of annual Jane Williams Library Lectures. Richard Harries (Lord Harries of Pentregarth), formerly Bishop of Oxford, will give the next lecture on Sunday 12th June 2011.

Sacred Space - aims to bring live opportunities for exploration of the Arts and Spirituality through meditative and practical workshops, and through reflective exploration of the Cathedral.

KJB400 - this year sees the 400th anniversary of the King James Bible. There have been few more important single publications and its impact through history has been colossal. The Cathedral therefore takes this celebration as its theme for the Artspace programme this year.
