At Bradford Cathedral we offer
services of Holy Communion with Healing at 6.30pm on the third Sunday
in the month and at 10.15am on the first Sunday.
Details of special services appear in the Cathedral's weekly news sheet,
in the local press and on the Cathedral website.
There is also a Healing Prayer
group of lay members of the congregation, led by Canon Andy Williams.
It currently has 16 members and incorporates Listeners, a number of health
professionals of various disciplines and some Lay Assistants who take
Holy Communion to the housebound and those in care.
The group's function is to
pray for and share the concerns of anyone brought to their attention because
of illness or the need for spiritual support.
Group members meet together regularly for prayer and reflection and offer
the ministry of Laying on of Hands and Listening at either morning or
evening healing services.
We do not offer Counselling, but if you feel the need to talk privately
with a Listener, contact the cathedral office (01274 777720) and your
request will be passed on and followed up.
There is also a book of prayer
requests available in the Cathedral's Chapel of the Holy Spirit. This
is taken up and placed on the altar during Sunday morning service and
is included in the prayers of the Cathedral community.
This Lay Ministry has been
created to help you achieve wholeness of body mind and spirit through
the channelling of God's Healing Grace.
