A
heaven-sent opportunity:

discover one of Bradford's best kept secrets.

Bradford Cathedral Education

School and College Visits

Bradford Cathedral is a first class educational resource - full of opportunities for first-hand discovery, offered in an imaginative and well-developed programme by an experienced teaching team.

Why visit Bradford Cathedral?

This ancient place of worship, with over thirteen hundred years of history, tells two different kinds of story: the Christian story and that of Bradford. Both can be discovered on this peaceful site where once battles raged. Bradford's heritage, within a national and international framework, is a source of interest for groups of all ages.

Bradford's giant visual aid!

A special RE resource

The Cathedral's special nature provides an important RE resource. Here is a 'living building' - not a museum, where every feature has a particular meaning or use. It is a giant visual aid, packed full of interest, worked out carefully in a logical and simple programme to give you the best angles - and interpreted by members of the Faith community, in a choice of special RE options.

Cross-curricular visits

Full day school visits offer options which explore the building from many angles - art, creative writing, drama, local history, materials, music, + RE. Visits are tailor made to your needs and are booked and planned with the Cathedral's Education Adviser. They can be planned to explore the Cathedral and the Christian Faith across the curriculum.

What does it cost?

There is a range of moderate costs. Supervising adults are free.

There's more!

Just to whet your appetite!
A few of the Cathedral's interesting features…

- people whose names have become local landmarks

- a monument to a great scientist and explorer who started off as a whaling captain and became Vicar of Bradford
